Where did JMUX come from?

JMUX is inspired by a framework the author uses at work for his 'day job'. Known internally as 'codeworks', it was written in the very early days of J2EE and way before Spring. Its simplicity was so compelling, he felt the need to have access to a similar framework available for use in other projects he would work on in future. In addition, he wanted to change try things that would not find 'business sponsorship' during the day.

Isn't this like reinventing the wheel?

Probably, yes.

How can I use JMUX with Java 1.4 or earlier?

Java 5 was released years ago. You should upgrade.
